All clients will be given an account which you will use to securely upload audio, video, and document files. We only accept digital files via secure upload, and we'll only email transcripts to you if you specifically request it. Finished transcripts are always made available for you to securely download from our server.

Certified Transcripts
Your completed transcripts can be accompanied by a notarized certificate of accuracy for a small additional fee. We offer sealed and certified hard copies as well as digital copies. We can digitally sign and certify PDF transcripts which allows you to avoid the shipping and per page cost. Certified PDFs are unalterable. A visible digital signature is included as the last page of the document and verified by GlobalSign®. If somehow the PDF is corrupted or altered in any way, when the reader opens the file, he will be presented with a red "X" and a statement that the certification is no longer valid. Unlike many other transcription companies nowadays, in addition to accepting the hundreds of digital audio & video files in existence, we gladly accept physical media. If you have recordings on cassette tapes, MiniDiscs, reel-to-reel tapes, Compact Discs, or any one of a number of other audio or video formats, you can ship them to us. We don't just accept older formats as an afterthought though. We have audio engineers who provide audio enhancement, transfer & digitization, cassette & optical disc repair, and voicemail retrieval services.
Forensic Transcription of Marginally Intelligible Speech
Law enforcement transcription often involves recordings with difficult to understand speech due to a variety of circumstances. These might include recording covertly using parabolic or shotgun mics, contact mics, or mics that are hidden in clothing or other items or are at a distance from the speech.
Issues might also arise due to people speaking excitedly or rapidly, with speech impediments, or heavy accents. Background noise can also be a serious issue as can be electrical interference, overlapping speech, and inebriated speech. These examples can easily be beyond the purview of the legal transcriptionist, but we can assign them to a forensic linguist.
The forensic linguist has advanced degrees in linguistics and phonetics along with extensive experience with linguistic and forensic audio software and can often decode speech that is unintelligible to everyone else. He doesn't just listen carefully over and over. What's more is that he has the credentials to back up his conclusions.
